It was stupid. The whole story was stupid and lazy. I guess someone wanted to do a story where you have the option to sympathize with a terrorist. What really gets me is that he does it whether you help him or not. Actually everything in the game is like that. Nothing you do changes anything.
While Merrill is not a character I use very much in DA2, this piece conveys a lot of emotion simply though her eyes and facial expression. I don't know if this is sadness after they had to kill her clan or if it's just because she misses home so much. Regardless, well done. She's very much in he forefront and I believe she's on Sundermount somewhere though it is rather hazy. It doesn't matter though, Merrill is one sad little Dalish elf.
I only played the game once. I actually really hate the game, but some of the companion characters were good. Merrill got me with her great accent. I think she's sad too. She tries to hide it by being playful, which is sort of sadder then someone who is outright mopey.
I hate the comabt system. It's too fast. You push X and then watch everything die. There is no need for any planning or strategy. Plus the waves and waves of enemies does not make it harder, just more boring and tedious.
If this was the route they were going, they should have just went with a full on hack and slash game.
